I attended the game last night. What I noticed. The Avs defense gets complacent which coincides with soft goals. The first line several times were getting out worked for the puck while pinned in the defensive zone. The first line players minus Makar appeared to be gassed in OT. Mac and Rants attempts in the shootout were pretty pathetic. I expect to see an ugly game in LA.
Can one person tell me what Tatars role is on this team? He hovers back, tries to let the play come to him, and doesn't bring anything to his line. At least Drouin is taking shots and trying to elevate his game but I would scratch Tatar till he decides if he wants to play hockey on this team. Been a passenger way too long. We knew the penalty situations would eventually haunt them, way too many, and EVERY game. They are developing bad habits
AD-The penalties are related to work in the defensive end yes? Also is MacK just going through one of those (by his standards) not at his best stretches (seems to be struggling to get good shots on goal at times)? Last - I watched Anaheim when they gave Vegas their first loss (the night after Vegas drilled the Avs), then last night - in both games, despite their record, they seem to be a really physical, hard-working team - is that accurate, and so will the new coach have a chance going forward?
