Newhook was demoted to the 4th line, which I'm sure was demotivating. 18 has been shuffled all over the roster this season, which has hurt him. For me, it's frustrating to treat a young guy like that, but Newhook hasn't earned his NHL Veteran Gold Card yet, so it's not unexpected.
