Woman In Nichushkin's Seattle Hotel Room Was Taken To Hospital
No criminal charges against Avalanche forward, but unanswered questions remain
Two days ago, I reported that a 28-year-old woman was taken from the Avalanche team hotel after 911 was called, and she was taken to a local hospital. At the time, despite being suspected, there was no official confirmation that the woman had any connection to Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin. Today, it was confirmed, at least according to a Seattle Fire Department/911 record of the Sat., April 22 incident.
On Saturday, at 3:20 p.m. as I originally reported, a 911 call was made from the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle to request medical aid to a 28-year-old woman. As I reported, Seattle Fire Department public affairs officer David Cuerpo said the woman was treated at the scene, then taken by American Medical Response - an ambulance/EMT service - to Virginia Mason Medical Center (the original report, from Cuerpo, said she was taken to Harborview Medical Center).
In the report made public, which I have seen and was also disclosed by The Denver Post not long ago, Avalanche medical personnel, along with hotel security, entered the room of Nichushkin to check on him and found the woman who was reportedly heavily intoxicated.
It is not known if the woman had any previous relationship with Nichushkin, but the report states she was in his room on Saturday. Avs medical personnel and hotel security alerted the hotel staff/management and requested medical intervention. The 911 call was placed at 3:20 and a fire department truck, then an AMR ambulance, arrived shortly thereafter.
The report states that the woman said she is from Russia and born in Ukraine. While the woman walked without aid in the hotel lobby, my sources say - and the report indicates - that she became belligerent with Avs medical personnel and hotel security. In fact, the Seattle FD report states that the woman hit a member of Avalanche personnel.
