Hard to believe, but Avalanche hockey actually is back starting tonight in Los Angeles against the Kings. Also hard to believe: Comcast cable subscribers still can’t watch the games this year, but we don’t have to worry about that tonight at least, because the game will be broadcast on TNT.
The Avs enter the 2023-24 season as one of the favorites to win the next Stanley Cup, and why not? They’ve rebuilt their third line, added a true, bonafide No. 2 center and reunited Nathan MacKinnon with a linemate (Jonathan Drouin) that terrorized junior hockey about 10 years ago.
It’s a long, long season and a lot will change. But these are the things I’ll really be paying attention to regarding the Avs when the puck drops tonight:
