Thoughts On Ryan O'Reilly, And Other Avs Stuff

No guarantees, but the Blues pretty much have to trade ROR now

I’ll start off by saying: I don’t think it will happen. I don’t think Ryan O’Reilly will be a member of the Colorado Avalanche hockey club this season, or any other season for that matter.

I well remember some of the blistering phone calls I had with some of the people involved in l’affaire ROR in 2013, when the then-young center didn’t sign with the Avalanche when play resumed in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season. Believe me when I tell you there was some serious bad blood involving O’Reilly, the Avs, his agent and Avs teammates in that bad overall season. The only reason O’Reilly played at all for the Avs in that season, in my opinion anyway, is because they had to match a predatory offer from the Calgary Flames to keep him.
