What a win for the Avs in Game 2

Late in the third period last night, with the Colorado Avalanche holding on to a 4-2 lead, the TV cameras focused on a hunched-over, staring-at-the-ice Alexandar Georgiev. The camera also picked up that Georgie was talking to himself, in what looked like a very deep, serious way. I hope one he might have said was “I told you I’d show these motherfuckers.”

If Georgie has a dog, he/she might have been the only one left in his corner who still believed in him, entering Game 2 against Winnipeg. After truly one of the most cringe goaltending performances in recent memory in Game 1, everyone (hand raised here) was calling for his permanent benching. He was mocked throughout the hockey world, with pictures on Twitter showing up with beachballs going past him in goal.
