Hang it in the rafters of Ball Arena.

Look… they tried. The NHL continues to try new things and I always appreciate that. Let’s just say things aren’t stale.

But on the other hand, the All-Star Game Skills Competition kinda sucks. I understand, I’m a 37-year old man and this wasn't targeted toward me. It’s for little kids and my 5-year old son was glued to the screen for the two-and-half hours he made it before finally falling asleep on the couch.

We let him stay up to watch the only event that mattered: the SplashShot competition.

As Avalanche fans, can we be any more spoiled in the last year? First, it was a Stanley Cup. And now? Oh, I dunno, how about the premier beach-based NHL skill game!? That’s right, the SplashShot Champions are Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar, bringing home yet another top-tier title to Denver.

The banner mock-up is just a suggestion. I know the Predators would do it, though.
