There have been some reports out there recently that a new contract extension between the Avs and Mikko Rantanen was/is all but a formality, that a new deal should be announced any moment. Not from what I’ve heard. And that was before Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl just signed an eight-year, $112 million extension, which computes to an annual salary cap number of $14 million.
