“We’re back! Lehky is back, too! Winning is fun!”

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, we can all exhale again as the Colorado Avalanche snapped its four-game losing streak, ending our long national nightmare in our nation’s capital with a 6-3 win against the Washington Capitals.

It started great with a lightning-fast 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Ross Colton and Devon Toews in the opening five minutes. After the last week, I bet the fanbase was feeling great and ready for another blowout win of the Caps like the previous meeting in Denver a few weeks back.

But in the words of legendary college football commentator Lee Corso, “Not so fast, my friend!”
