Hockey will happen this month

Some Saturday afternoon thoughts on the Avalanche and maybe a few other things, as I also sit and watch the CU game:

• Cale Makar is going to have a monster of a year. That’s my continual, overriding thought of this long, long off-season. He’s had a busy summer, including getting engaged. But the word I hear is Makar has worked out like a madman this summer and looks stronger.
