So it’s been a crazy few days for the Colorado Avalanche.

I have left a lot of the roster analysis to Dater since most of you A) want to hear from him more than me and B) understand that he’s a more analytical writer for these situations. I can see both points as he brought me on to be more of a ‘fan’ than a journalist covering the team. I tend to be more emotional with my views and analysis than AD.

Instead, I’m sitting here at my dining room table on a Sunday morning with my coffee (Dunks of course) on one side of my laptop and my daughter coloring on the other looking back and thinking that I would share some of my opinions and observations on the week that was for the Colorado Avalanche (and maybe another topic or two).

  • “It was great. You know, I felt we had a solid team, but I don’t know, it just didn’t feel right sometimes and now it feels awesome. Super excited, super motivating. All you really want is a chance and we feel like the front office is giving us a great chance with this roster and are really excited about the moves we made.” - Nathan MacKinnon.
