Avs push win streak to 7 with 4-3 victory
November 11 seems like a long time ago. It’s been 129 days since then, but it might as well be a decade.
It was on that Saturday night in November that the St. Louis Blues went to Denver and embarrassed the Colorado Avalanche, 8-2, at Ball Arena. A pair of both shorthanded and power-play goals for the Blues led to perhaps the ugliest loss of the season for the Avs.
But 128 days later, the Avalanche have righted the ship and sit tied atop the Central Division with 93 points thanks to a 4-3 win in St. Louis on Tuesday night. Sure, they’ve had bad nights since then, but not often and nothing like that night.
Colorado’s victory was its seventh straight (the longest active mark in the NHL) and marked its league-leading 23rd comeback of the season (more than either the 2000-01 or 2021-22 teams). Resilience in the wake of adversity has been a staple of this year’s team and following a lackluster effort in Nashville two weeks ago, the Avs have won nonstop.
