Let’s get right to the bullet points. Avs lose 5-4 to Dallas in a shootout, falling to 2-0-1 on season:

• The Curse of Mikko is growing. He had a great assist on Dallas’ first goal and won the shootout with a laser past Scott Wedgewood.

• But the guy they got Mikko for? Martin Necas was awesome, with a goal, two assists, and he could have had about three or four more points if not for Jake Oettinger.

• Otter was the difference in the game, with 35 saves. I don’t think there was any better than the glove stop he made on Necas in overtime, after Matt Duchene lost a stick and Necas beat him to the far side for a one-timer that appeared ticketed to the twine.

• “That was our best offensive game of the year, by a mile,” Jared Bednar said after the game. “I really liked the way we played.”
