Questions Arise After Third Straight Road Loss to Start Trip
Two goals in five seconds is good. No goals in other 59:55 is bad.

Well, Billy… I don’t think the Avs are in a New York state of mind after this week’s start to the six-game road trip. A blown lead late in the third period at Billy’s home venue on Monday night leading to a 2-1 overtime loss was followed by a 5-3 defeat across the Hudson River and the Avs were reeling to start the post-All-Star Game travels.
We continued down the coast, only to meet a Stormfront. And, aside from a span of five seconds at the end of the first period, it felt like ‘Red flags were flying from the Coast Guard mast.’ Carolina’s style of hockey is tough to watch when it adversely affects your team, and it sure did that Thursday night against Colorado.
I wouldn’t be going to extremes when I say that the type of game that Canes played to limit the Avs’ time and space with the puck is… well… It’s Not Our Style.
