Olofsson and Avs Power Past Devils
The new guy posted a hat trick and 5 points.
It’s been an interesting week for the Colorado Avalanche. Four straight losses — all by a goal — two coming in overtime and one via the shootout. The lone regulation defeat of the season so far? To one of the league’s worst teams (that I had to endure in person… again).
After Saturday’s loss in Boston — a place that’s become a house of horrors for this version of the Avalanche — the team headed straight to the Garden State for another matinee against the Devils. In a battle between two of the league’s top teams, there was no letdown. The game was back-and-forth throughout, with Colorado tying it late on a Brock Nelson goal before once again falling in OT.
Securing points is great. Losing them is not ideal.
So when the Avalanche returned home for a quick one-game stint at Ball Arena against those same Devils, they knew they needed a change of fortune. And they got it in a big way with an 8-4 win.
