Next-Day Avalanche Observations From Islanders Win
Avs have won 15 straight regular-season on road
The Colorado Avalanche set a new NHL record last night: A 15th straight regular-season victory on the road. Wow, indeed.
The Avs set the new mark with a 7-4 win over the New York Islanders, a game in which they trailed 3-2 at one point in the second period. The Avs are now 6-0-0 to start the season.
“It was a shooter’s night, on both sides,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said. “There have been some inconsistencies in our game still and we’re fortunate to be 6-0. We know that. We’ll keep looking at it and try to improve. That’s all you can do.”
OBSERVATIONS
Bednar said it was the “best he’s played all year” when discussing Bo Byram’s game. Hard to argue with that, as Byram scored a goal and was a plus-2 in nearly 20 minutes of ice time.
