Christian Dufour - Vermont bred, Avs fanatic

This is something I’m starting back up again, something I did on my old site. Just little biographies of subscribers here at Dater On Avalanche. I like to know who you are better, put a face to the name, and maybe you’ll like it too.

CHRISTIAN DUFOUR

Christian Dufour, like yours truly, was born in Vermont. Yet, we both became enmeshed in a life that has heavily involved the Colorado Avalanche.

Christian, who lives in Westminster, was born in 1954 in Newport, Vt. He works as a logistics supervisor for a satellite company.

How did he become a huge Avs fan? Because he was a huge Nordiques fan as a younger man, and when the Avs moved to Colorado, it was a perfect fit.

Christian has been married to his wife, Marlys, since 1981 and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1974. He worked as a jet mechanic. He has two grown children and three grandchildren.

Welcome, Christian, and here are five random questions:

1. We are both natives of Vermont. When was the last time you were in the Green Mountain State? (For me, it was a few days ago, in Putney). “Two years ago. I hope to go back for a family reunion next year.”

2. Did you fly planes in the Air Force? If so, what is it like to be behind the steering wheel of an airplane? “I was a Jet mechanic in the Air Force. The best part of my job was where I would actually test the engines just like we were flying.”

3. What's the No. 1 thing you still have on a "bucket list" you'd like to do? “I would love to go to a Belgium Monastery. I would prefer it be Westvleteren and both brew and have a beer. Also, have a Guinness sitting on the Cliffs of Moher.”

4. If you were on death row and had to order a last meal, what would it be? “Probably poutine!”

5. Have you ever been on TV? “In high school.”
