I don’t know how anyone could have watched Sunday's intense battle with Dallas in a nationally televised playoff-like atmosphere and have the opinion of anything besides Makar’s utter dominance of the position in the greatest hockey league in the world is unmatched.
Scoring the game-winning goal in the opening minute of overtime was just the icing on the cake. His 25th marker of the season gave Colorado the win and pushed its point streak to nine games (8-0-1), making a sleepy Stars team pay for their lackluster effort in the early stages of the fourth period to defend him on a brilliant zone entry.

Makar entered on the other side, though, slipped back through the slot between a pair of defenders and then sent the puck across his body along the ice and inside the far post, in essence fooling netminder Jake Oettinger into overcommitting and leaving the net open for Makar’s bid to end the game.
BUT HOW DID WE GET THE PUCK IN OT?!
