Jared Bednar Gets 3-Year Contract Extension - And He Deserved It
His new deal could be worth $4.5 million a year
News: Jared Bednar signed a three-year contract extension on his current contract, which had two years left on it already. His new deal puts him under contract with the Avalanche through the 2026-27 season.
Views: Well-earned. He deserved it.
I’m told Bednar’s new salary, once the extension kicks in, will be worth “at or about” $4.5 million per season. It’s believed he was making $2.25 million with the Avs right now. Salaries of NHL coaches are not public, but if you ask enough people, you’ll eventually get a consensus from the top. One person I spoke with thinks it could be worth $5 million per.
