Trade for goalie does not materialize on deadline day

The whispers this morning, at least on my end, were that the Avalanche might import another goalie today, be it a backup or a new “1A” type. It didn’t happen.

Did some deal that was in the works fizzle out at the end? Or, did the Avs have no intention of bringing in anyone new? No matter what you hear, I don’t think we’ll ever get the full truth on that, either way. What’s done is done, and in this case what is done is: Alexandar Georgiev is the goalie the Avs have their Stanley Cup hopes hitched upon for the playoffs.
