Colorado and Minnesota tangle in a nationally televised game for first place in the Central
This is a big one.
It’s not quite “Game 82” of the 2017-18 season, but it’s still big. Hell, the next two games are the most important of the season for this year’s Colorado Avalanche.
Tonight at the ungodly hour of 8 p.m. (10 p.m. my time), the Avs take on the not-quite-as-hot-but-pretty-damn-close Minnesota Wild in a game with first place in the Central Division on the line. A win in regulation or overtime will move Colorado ahead of Minnesota and into the top spot in the division for the first time all year.
Wild! Or maybe I should say ‘crazy’ instead.
The Avs won on Opening Night, but thanks to Nashville sweeping San Jose in Prague the week before, the Banner Ceremony victory against Chicago wasn’t enough for even that early-season edge.
