It Was a Perfect Weekend For The Avalanche
Colorado takes down Minny in Sunday matinee
Under most circumstances, it might be hard to argue that allowing two division rivals to pick up a point each in back-to-back games would result in something that could be called a perfect weekend.
But here we are.
The Colorado Avalanche just had a perfect weekend.
It started on Friday afternoon with the acquisition of Nazem Kadri late in the day, the announcement coming an hour after the trade deadline’s cutoff for submitting transactions to the league office. It continued later that evening in Dallas with a comeback win that not only included a late goal to force overtime, but also two incredible attempts and a pair of remarkable saves in the shootout to beat the Stars, 5-4.
It carried into Sunday with another shootout win, this time taking down the Wild, 3-2.
Six points were handed out in those two Central Division games. The Avalanche took four. You might argue that four-of-four would be perfect… but not me.
This was perfect.
Dater here: Well, other than Landy going down with a hit to the family jewels, almost perfect…
