


For those of you with kids, I know you’re going to read the following phrase in the same manner that I am hearing it in my head: “Road Trip Round Up!”
(It’s from the first song in ‘Encanto’ for all of you lucky enough not to have every Disney and Pixar movie memorized…)
After a brutal two-week stretch after Christmas, the Colorado Avalanche are back! Well, not all the way back because they’re still in fourth place in the Central Division as of this morning. But it’s more than just where they are in the standings, it’s about how they’re playing and the trajectory they appear to be on.
And this was done without Cale Makar the last three games!
The Avs are on a five-game heater right now after a pair of dominating home wins and then a sweep of this three-game road trip that finished Saturday night with a 2-1 shootout win in Seattle.
A pair of 4-1 wins at Calgary and Vancouver preceded the victory against former Vezina Finalist with the Avalanche Philipp Grubauer. This isn’t the place to talk about former Avs netminders, though. Why would we, when we have two goalies playing at the top of their games right now?
