After three disappointing results, the Colorado Avalanche finally figured it out.
Following one of the biggest dud performances in recent memory in Game 4, the Avalanche were able to muster up enough timely scoring to take Game 5, 5-3, and send the series back to Denver.
Dallas would love to have closed out the reeling Avs at home in Game 5. But they didn’t. And now they will try to do it on the road where Colorado was the best team in the league all season. If Dallas does win the series on Friday night, they will have won all three games at Ball Arena in the series and be much deserving of their spot in the Western Conference Final.
But will the Avalanche drop three at home in one series? Before this round started, I would have claimed that of all the things that have happened, the likelihood of Colorado losing three games a mile high would have been at the bottom of my list.
So here we are.
