It’s 12:37 a.m. on the east coast right now and I’m tired. I’m tired because it’s 12:37 a.m. for one thing, but I’m even more tired of this stretch of losses that has now reached five after Thursday’s 4-2 defeat in Vancouver. 

Puck luck. Bad luck. Bad bounces. Whatever you want to say to make yourself feel better about the current five-game skid, do it. Because this is frustrating to watch. I have to assume based on the demeanor seen on the ice when things started to go poorly, that it’s even more frustrating for the guys in the locker room.

Before I start to wax poetic about all the things I’m seeing from my ivory tower that is wrong with this team right now, let’s focus on tonight’s game: it wasn’t good enough.
