Mr. MacFarland, no doubt you have seen the fruits of a particular trade you made, Brock Nelson from the Islanders for, essentially, prospect Cam Ritchie and a draft pick to be named later.

Mr. Nelson has fully stabilized your previously wobbly position of second-line center. You, well, you kind of goofed on the acquisition of Casey Mittelstadt to fill that role, costing a fine young defenseman in return. But you righted that wrong in getting a fine hockey player for him in Charlie Coyle from the Bostonians, then getting Mr. Nelson from Lou, Patty Roy and the Isles.

So, Mr. MacFarland, let me get right to the point: SIGN MR. NELSON TO A CONTRACT EXTENSION NOW.
