Does Justus Annunen Have A Real Shot To Be Avs Backup Goalie For Now?

He played pretty well last night in Minnesota

31 saves on 34 shots faced. Not a bad night at all for Justus Annunen last night in Minnesota. The Wild won 4-2, with an empty-net goal, and Annunen had pretty close to just a junior/AHL team in front of him.

With Pavel Francouz still out with a lower-body injury, the question is: will the Avs just go with Annunen as the backup, for as long as Francouz is out?

I would say the odds are good he will. There have been rumors the Avs have looked around at the various veteran goalies on the market right now, with Jaroslav Halak one prominent name mentioned.

My sources, though, say the Avs have not reached out to Halak at all. Not yet anyway.
