The player acquired for Bo Byram last season, who is supposed to be the team’s foundational second-line center, inner-core player, is often centering a fourth line these days. After a pretty good start to the season production-wise, Mittelstadt has just stopped putting much of anything on the board.
In last night’s 4-3 loss at home to Edmonton, the 26-year-old played 14:54 and had zero points and zero shots on goal. He won 7-of-11 faceoffs, so there’s that.
