Chances Seem Good Cale Makar Next EA Sports NHL '24 Cover Boy
Don't take it straight to the bank, but industry sources telling me it's likely
First off, I’m not on the video game beat. Secondly, sorry for being dormant the last couple of weeks, but things will start ramping up again here at Dater On Avalanche very quickly. Tomorrow, I’ll be publishing a long piece on what it was like to hang out with former Avs anthem singer Jake Schroeder and some kids from Arrupe Jesuit High School in Denver this past week, in Normandy, France.
But, here’s what I’m hearing from industry sources regarding the next EA Sports cover boy for NHL ‘24: Cale Makar. Apparently, from what my son tells me, this is a very big deal.
Again, I stopped truly playing any kind of hockey video game in roughly 1975, with a Pong version of hockey - and I was truly unbeatable at it. My reflexes as a 10-year-old male with a bent toward sports and all emerging technologies were strong.
But, honestly, haven’t held a joystick in roughly 35 years, and that’s not a lie.
Anyway, this is what I’m hearing. If it doesn’t happen, then it was just a rumor that I passed along, with no strong ties to its ownership. But, my industry sources seem to think this is a strong possibility. So, I’m passing it along to y’all.
I hope that happens. I actually felt Cale should of been on it last year. Definitely rumors are going around that it is Cale. I will cross my fingers.
