Blackwood Extension Coming (Update: It's done)

(Quite literally, as soon as I posted this piece, news broke of the deal being done. Five years at a $5.25 million cap hit). My opinion of what I thought a deal should be stands, but, hey, it could prove a bargain in the end).

Elliotte Friedman broke some news this morning, tweeting that the Avs and MacKenzie Blackwood have “momentum” on a contract extension. That’s as good as a done deal for me, as Elliotte doesn’t miss on much.

The remaining unanswered questions: how long and for how much?

I’ll go on record here and guess: four years, $20 million.
