NASHVILLE - “Four-letter word!!!!”

You know the one. It’s the one my son said at kindergarten a few weeks back that caused me to have a conversation with his teacher at pick-up time.

I now know where he learned it: from hearing Daddy watch games like this.

Forty seconds from a regulation win and two points, the Colorado Avalanche were hemmed in their own defensive zone for too long, leading to a pair of goals for the Nashville Predators and a 4-3 win for the home team.

From the highs of the six-goal outburst against Dallas on Saturday night to the lows of literally giving a game away in the final minute Monday in Tennessee. The Avs’ two-game road swing ran that course.

This game was, in my opinion, boring for 57 minutes. Sure, it had the Andrew Coglinao shorthanded tally early on, yet another goal from Valeri Nichushkin and three more assists for Cale Makar, but it wasn’t exciting.
