I know that most people aren’t like me. I know most Americans root for Americans and American teams to win sporting competitions on international levels. And I do, too… sometimes.
But in hockey, I always root for Canada. Always have. Always will. It’s a family thing.
Regardless of which team you pulled for, last night’s finale of the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off was an awesome way to cap one of the NHL’s greatest achievements. The initial Winter Classic in 2008 was an amazing way to put the game in front of a national audience and showcase the greatness of a young Sidney Crosby. Just over 17 years later, the 4 Nations was a captivating way to celebrate the game in front of a world audience and showcase the greatness of a mature Sidney Crosby.
