Cale Makar is just an unbelievable player. One play - one play - he made last night completely turned around an Avalanche game and team that appeared headed for the graveyard. A steal of a pass in his own zone on a penalty kill, a rush down the ice from the right side, a slap shot from about 50 feet that got all net.
THAT’S why Makar gets the big bucks. If the Avs wind up turning this season around and seriously challenge for another Stanley Cup, that play by Makar last night will - at least for me - be used as Exhibit A when it all turned positive.
