Avs Players Show Up Early in Milan
Colorado's 8 players scored 12 goals in the preliminary round.

We all knew the Avalanche would figure it out. Eventually, that power play — loaded with this much talent — was going to get back on track.
I just don’t think anyone expected it to happen at the Olympics… against other NHL stars.
With the preliminary round complete and the 12 teams headed to the knockout stage, Colorado’s eight representatives have shined. At various points throughout the tournament, Avalanche players have been among the standout performers in Milan.
There’s no question that Macklin Celebrini and Connor McDavid have grabbed the biggest individual headlines, but as a group, no NHL club has enjoyed more success at these Games than the Avalanche. The octet from the Mile High City has combined for 12 goals with four coming on the power play.
That might not sound overwhelming, but imagine three weeks ago suggesting Avs players would score four power-play goals in one week! We all would’ve taken that instantly. Maybe they can bottle up that shoot-first mentality from their national teams and bring it back to Denver to revive a power play that sits at the bottom of the NHL.
