Avs Player Grades From Win Over Philly

Hey, I’m doing some teaching again in my life, at real schools, so handing out grades is easy. Let’s do some grades from last night’s 3-2 Avs win in Philly.

Cale Makar (X) - Cale gets the X, for a game so good it was obscene. Two goals, and another that got waved off, but should have counted. He played 27:04, had five shots on net, blocked three shots and sold three Philly cheesesteaks after the game at Pat’s. He’s a cyborg, the Hart Trophy winner if the season ended today, in my book.

Devon Toews (A) - Makar’s ride-along partner had a very solid game, with an assist in 21:11. He hasn’t had a great year to this point, but this was certainly a great step in the rest of what hopefully will be another strong season in the end.
