Avs Play Two Worst Games of the Season, Don’t Allow a Goal in Either
Colorado sweeps divisional weekend with 3-0 and 1-0 wins
The Colorado Avalanche just put forth their two worst single-game performances of the season in back-to-back outings…
…and they didn’t allow a single goal.
Let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment. Let’s all gather in the trust tree. The Avs are the best team in the league. They’re on a record pace and cruising with only one regulation loss (darn it!), but they were thoroughly outplayed by both Nashville on Saturday night and for lengthy stretches tonight in Chicago.
And yet… they won those games, 3-0 and 1-0.
Colorado’s weakness 365 days ago was a lack of goaltending depth that had to be outscored to be overcome. One year later? The incredible depth at the position just delivered back-to-back road shutouts from two different netminders, covering for a scoring drought from the league’s best offensive team.
