What did we learn about the Colorado Avalanche from today’s preseason game against Minnesota?
Nothing.
The team wearing the Burgundy and Blue on Sunday barely resembled the group that will represent the Avs during the NHL’s upcoming regular season. We all knew that coming into this one… for those of us who actually remembered that there was a “game” today.

We were making scarecrows in the garage when I had to look over at my wife and tell her there was a game on at 3 p.m. She reminded me that we already had the Patriots game on the TV, to which I replied, “No… the Avs’ first preseason game.”
A 10-second pause with no eye contact.
“See you in April, I guess,” she said.
“Late June, hopefully,” I answered. That was met with an eye roll.
