If Gabe Landeskog comes back, which is starting to look more and more likely, it would be most ideal to get him at least a couple of regular-season games to shake off some of the three years of cobwebs, right?
Right. But there’s a problem: the salary cap. The Avs currently have only $836,500 of cap space, per PuckPedia. For Landeskog to play at any time before the end of the regular season, the Avs would have to clear $6.16 million to fit Landeskog’s $7 million cap hit.
