Avs Notebook: Don't stress over last loss, or even one or two more soon
This team will win the West
I hope everyone reading this is keeping warm. It was 9 degrees Fahrenheit where I woke up this morning. Add the wind chill, probably zero.
Still nowhere close to the coldest place I’ve ever been. Those two places were both, shocker, in Canada. One time in Winnipeg it was -40 Fahrenheit, and the same temp another time in Calgary. If you’ve never experienced minus-40 cold, congratulations. I grew up in New Hampshire, where the winters were cold, cold, cold. But never minus-40 that I can recall.
A panoramic notebook of sorts here, a little of this and a little of that, including some personal stuff at the end:
I don’t care if the Avs lose tomorrow in a matinee against the Rangers or the game after that. They’ve earned a little slump, if that’s the case. This is team 19-2-6. They are almost certainly going to win the West (Dallas is keeping pace, but injury problems will hit in the win-loss record soon. Tyler Seguin may be out for the year, and Matt Duchene is still out). They probably will win the President’s Trophy too (that is usually a jinx, but not always).
