Connor Hellebucyk would win the Vezina Trophy if the voting for the NHL’s best goalie were held today. But it’s not, and I for one will be glued to Saturday’s game between Hellebucyk’s Winnipeg Jets and YOUR Colorado Avalanche, with MacKenzie Blackwood presumably between the pipes.
Hellebucyk (what a weird spelling of that name, with the Y at the end, right?) is the NHL’s leader in goals-against average, at 2.08. His save percentage of .926 is first in the league for any goalie with more than 25 appearances.
Guess who’s second, though, in SP? MacKenzie Blackwood, at .920.
