Avs Notebook: Blackwood Might Return Thursday
A brief notebook on a Wednesday:
Tough OT loss in Utah last night. Avs got screwed on a bad offside call that negated what would have been Gabe Landeskog’s first regular-season goal since March of 2022 and, despite a late Martin Necas goal to tie it, lost in OT when Nathan MacKinnon gave the puck away, leading to an odd-man rush and goal the other way.
It was ruled Valeri Nichushkin touched the puck after entering the Utah zone, but there was just no proof of that on video. After a very long delay, Toronto decided the goal should be reversed. It arguably cost the Avs the extra point.
