Avs Need To Beat Stars Tomorrow

Plus, my thoughts on goalies

I don’t care that Cale Makar will miss the game, or that Nic Roy will miss the game. What has to happen tomorrow in Dallas is that the Colorado Avalanche hockey club finds a way to beat the Dallas Stars on their home ice.

The Avs, I believe, need to hang their hat on something with the playoffs not far away, and a win over the Stars would do it.

Now look, there is also a nice thing for this team to hang their hat on: winning a division and conference title. Barring a complete collapse, that will happen. Even with a loss to the Stars tomorrow, that will still almost certainly happen.

But the Avs need to win this one. Just to be able to say to themselves again that, hey, we’re better than that hockey club in Dallas. Yes, I know the Avs beat the Stars the last time they played there, thanks to a dying moments regulation tying goal by Val Nichushkin.
