Avs-Kings Game 2 Observations
It was one of the best 2-1 games you’ll ever see.
It had big hits, bad blood, trash talk, hatred, and shattered glass. It finished with the same final score, and the same winning team, as the first game. But the games were worlds apart.
I never once was worried the Avs would lose Game 1. I was all but convinced they were going to lose Game 2. Anyone who was on our live chat last night seemed to believe that, too, when you look at the posts with only a few minutes left in the third period.
But there was one big play that turned it around, and it leads off my observations of the night:
The biggest play of the game was Devon Toews keeping a puck in the Kings’ zone. Drew Doughty rimmed a puck around the boards in an attempted clearout, but Toews kept it in right at the left blue line. He sealed the boards, as they say.
