Mr. Durst could not have known how applicable the essence of his words would be to the Colorado Avalanche during a two-game road swing through Western Canada nearly a quarter century after first penning them.

Unable to build on the momentum of Tuesday’s home win against the Lightning thanks to a three-day break before a back-to-back at Edmonton and Vancouver, the Avalanche were forced to wait.
