Avs Head to South Beach (Kinda) for Big Tilts with Cats
Defending champs welcome Colorado to the beach.
Sorry for those who usually join the in-game chat that Thursday’s was MIA. I had parent-teacher conference and Dater is once again battling an illness. Sometimes life gets in the way of a Washington-Colorado in-game chat. We should both be back tonight.
As for tonight’s game in Florida… let’s jump in.
Colorado is coming off a 2-1 win in Washington with Alexandar Georgiev putting on perhaps his best performance of the season between the pipes. He finished the night with 28 saves and was tabbed as the game’s first star.
His saves down the stretch as the Capitals dominated the final five minutes of the game — including that point-blank slot shot — were the difference in Colorado getting the regulation win or having to head to overtime to battle for the extra point.
There seemed to be no issues pertaining to the injury that had him sidelined for a few days. So that’s good for a guy who is finding his game.
Georgiev is now 4-0 in his last four starts with a respectable .914 save percentage and a 2.22 goals-against average. A far cry from the numbers we saw to start the season when he was 0-4.
