Colorado Avalanche Logo Anniversary Logo (2025/26) - The Colorado Avalanche 30th anniversary logo shows three horizontally-stacked X's (Roman numeral for 30) with their three Stanley Cup championship seasons (22, 01, 96) within them. The Avalanche logo is placed upon the logo.

This logo is used at centre ice and as a helmet decal by the Avalanche during the 2025-26 season to celebrate their 30th anniversary since relocating from Quebec to Denver. SportsLogos.Net

This week marked the 30th anniversary of the Avalanche becoming the Avalanche. They had already moved to Colorado, but the team was nameless until August 10, 1995, when “Avalanche” was officially announced as the moniker for the former Quebec Nordiques.

To mark the occasion, the team unveiled its 30th anniversary logo, its fourth commemorative logo since moving west, following marks for the 10th, 20th, and 25th anniversaries. This season, the new logo will sit at center ice at Ball Arena and appear as a helmet decal, since the prime real estate on the front right shoulder now belongs to a corporate patch.

The design features three Roman numeral X’s for the 30 years in Denver. It’s the second time the Avs have used Roman numerals for an anniversary logo, the first being the single X for the 10th season in 2005-06. This year, the three X’s double as a nod to the franchise’s three Stanley Cups in 1996, 2001 and 2022. Three in 30 is tidy, but personally, I’d prefer a less symmetrical “four in 30” or “five in 30” situation. (That 2002 Western Conference Final still haunts me 23 years later… same with 2000… and 1999 if we’re being honest.)
