At 6-0-0, Colorado is off to its best start since the Nordiques began the 1985-86 season 7-0-0. That would make this year’s team the best Avalanche squad since the Denver relocation in 1995… better than any three of the Cup teams and that really weird 2013-14 anomaly squad!
With a win, the Avs can continue to build on its NHL record regular-season road win streak. Colorado’s 7-4 win on Long Island on Tuesday was the 15th straight road victory dating back to last season, passing the 2006 Sabres for the new league standard.
