Trade deadline talk, thoughts on J. Toews plus NHL 3 Best Bets for Thursday
Hey y’all, happy Thursday, hope all well with everyone. Been a bit under the weather lately myself. As my friends in New Hampshire used to say: “Dater, you got the crud.”
Let’s do some Avalanche thoughts, notes, quotes and other hockey flotsam and jetsam for this cold day in Thornton on the 16th day of February in the Year of Our Lord, 2023:
That was a gutsy and big win for the Avs last night in Minny. What I loved about it most was: the Avs won despite not at all playing their best. Minny knows they can’t play much better than that, so it had to be more than a little soul-crushing for them. Gee, that’s too bad, right?
The Wild just can’t score. Well, other than Kirill Kaprizov, who is one hell of a talent. That goal he scored to make it 3-2 was magnificent.
So, we’re 15 days from the NHL trade deadline (don’t forget, only 28 days in the month of February). What are the Avs gonna do?
Well…I’m starting to have more doubt about Jonathan Toews coming here. Toews has not played since before the All-Star break. He’s officially listed as out with a “non-Covid illness.” He missed a full season in 2020-21 with an illness that was nebulously listed as a kind immune-response/fatigue ailment. Has he had a recurrence?
