Avalanche Notebook: Still No Re-Signings
It'll only be 17 days until Erik Johnson, J.T. Compher and others can hit open market
Hello from Hartford, where I’m in the midst of an Eastern visit to family and friends. I took a tour of the house Mark Twain and his family lived in for 17 years today, and stood right in the room where he wrote classics such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. He had a nice crib. There’s money in words, folks. Unfortunately, Mr. Twain lost most of his fortune on an ill-advised printing press investment. Apparently only two were ever made, and I saw one of them. It was a leviathan of complicated-looking little parts, a hulk of an albatross on his finances. But, oh, to have lived a life like Mark Twain lived.
When I said there would be something of a news desert for Avs stuff for a while, I wasn’t kidding was I? There just hasn’t been much to write about regarding this team since they were bounced out of the first round by the… Seattle Kraken (that still just doesn’t seem possible).
One of the main things I keep trying to monitor is the status of their unsigned, potential unrestricted free agents, guys such as Erik Johnson and J.T. Compher.
