Avalanche Notebook: Landeskog To Go On Road Trip
He won't play, but optimism on return grows, at least to some. Plus, thoughts on Newhook and SuperBook Colorado 3 Best Bets
News: Gabe Landeskog will go on the Avalanche’s three-game road trip, starting tomorrow night in San Jose.
Views: He’s not going to play. But it can’t help but be viewed as anything but a positive that No. 92 will be skating with the team and bonding more on the road again with his teammates.
Beyond that, everything remains very tight-lipped regarding his prognosis on a return. Officially, there remains “no timetable.” But for what I hear, there is more optimism Landeskog will play again this season - whether in one of the last regular-season games and the playoffs, or just the playoffs only.
I still have something of a skeptical nature, personally, that he’s going to be ready for Game 1, Round 1. But that’s just me. He has yet to have a real, full-contact practice, and the playoffs are only two weeks away.
But I’ve certainly been wrong before on injury prognoses. But maybe that changes this week, on the road. We’ve been in this waiting game on Landy for such a long time, that there is fatigue about it all.
But we need to keep being patient I guess.
